Job Description:
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, Lead Smelter, the Production Coordinator, will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective preventive and repair maintenance and shutdown scheduling to provide optimum performance of plants
- Manage multiple shifts from a 5×2 position
- Ensure that needs for plant improvements are identified and that action is taken to achieve improvements
- Work with MET control teams to identify and implement process improvements while maintaining production demands
- Coordinate work tasks with outside groups to ensure safe and timely completion of work
- Manage the day-to-day operation and staffing requirements of the plant
- Set operator expectations and providing constructive feedback on worker performance
Job Requirements:
- 1 – 3 years of experience managing crews in an industrial environment
- Knowledge of the Collective Agreement and associated Letters of Understanding
- Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives through all steps until fully implemented
- Ability to motivate and hold others accountable for their performance
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
- Good oral and written communication skills, promotes open communication and demonstrates respect for others
- Encourages and facilitates employee ideas for continuous improvement, and fosters teamwork
