Job Description:
The Manager, Public Relations (PR) and Community Stakeholder Relations provides strategic leadership and is an integral member of the PR team. This role manages the day-to-day requests and proactive opportunities for ambassadors to participate in compelling storytelling, brand, marketing communications, media relations, social media and fundraising that inspire the community to support SickKids Foundation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains relationships with various levels of hospital staff, across the organization, to encourage them to recommend and secure new patient leads ;
- Attends events, media interviews, film shoots and other activities to accompany families;
- Ability to work with agency partners to recruit and integrate ambassadors into productions;
- Works with journalists, editors, producers, influencers and content creators to amplify SickKids stories in various external communications channels;
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to conceptualize stories based on trends, real-time events, seasonal campaigns and one-off asks
- 7-10 years’ experience in a communications or community engagement role
