Job Description:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst works with Sheridan business leaders to determine business needs and transforms them into information technology system requirements. The incumbent performs the initial assessment of new system requirements, determines feasibility, significance, and scope. The incumbent possesses technical knowledge to be able to analyze, design and implement complex system solutions for the College. As an advocate of business interests, the incumbent works with functional areas to identify business and technology gaps, documents and manages requirements and models business solutions. Where technical solutions are needed, the incumbent conveys the business requirements in technical terms, architects solutions, and leads the change initiative with Enterprise Systems Services and other IT resources.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting complex business systems analysis and system design
- Assessing, analysing, and documenting requirements of new or existing systems, which integrate with other corporate information systems through the application of structured techniques
- Partnering with vendors, delivering Saas solutions for the college
- Maintaining, developing, and sharing technical skills in a rapidly changing environment
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Process analysis and process improvement
- Mapping processes and performing present state, future state, and gap analysis
- Creating proposals, requirements gathering/documentation and providing status reports for management
- Designing structured systems
- Interacting with staff at all levels including senior clients such as managers, directors, and vice presidents
- Conducting cost benefit analysis and business case and project charter development
