Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of IT PMO, you will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines, scope and budget. This includes defining the project’s objectives, overseeing quality control throughout the project lifecycle and communicating on project status.
Job Responsibilities:
- Defining project goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Conducting postmortems, PIRs, and creating recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
- Effectively setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
- Determining and assessing need for additional staff and/or consultants needed to achieve project goals during the project cycle
- Ensuring that project status and issues are communicated to project team, stakeholders and sponsors
- Identifying and managing project risks, dependencies and critical path
- Assisting with the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management
- Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team
- Directing and managing project development from beginning to end using a defined project management methodology
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience successfully managing large scale IT projects
- A strong grasp of information technology concepts and processes
- A PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification (preferred)
- A thorough understanding of project management principles, practices and theories for managing IT application projects
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science
- Strong business acumen
