Job Description:
The National Research Council Canada is seeking multiple Industrial Technology Advisors (ITAs) for its Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). We have ITA opportunities in various sectors across Canada, ranging from Information Communications Technology and Digital Media to Lifesciences and Agriculture and Food sectors, and more.
Job Responsibilities:
- The ITA will support Canadian small to medium sized enterprises (SME) to grow through innovation.
- He/she will provide business and technology advisory services to SMEs and will assess their innovation projects for potential IRAP funding.
- The incumbent will promote the awareness of and facilitate access to programs, expertise and services available from NRC and other government organizations, as well as from universities, colleges and other non-government organizations
- In order to better serve IRAP’s clients, the incumbent will develop and maintain a network of business and professional contacts in his/her sector of expertise.
Job Requirements:
- Recent and extensive private sector experience in developing and commercializing innovative products or services, with demonstrable outcomes.
- Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in an SMEs would be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering in a discipline related to the position from a recognized university.
- Experience in international business development and/or intellectual property management would be considered an asset.
- Preference may be given to candidates with a complementary degree or diploma in business, management, administration, finance or marketing.
Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in the sectors as described in the poster, preferably in SMEs. - A combination of a post-secondary degree in another field with significant work experience relevant to the position will be considered.
