Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Planning & Development Engineering, the Development Industry and Housing Consultant is responsible for planning & executing government and industry engagement and advocacy activities for the residential development industry and more affordable housing, to support the Department and the Corporation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare budget proforma for projects; make recommendations to senior management and committees on properties to develop and/or purchase
- Manage contracts with consultants for technical work and studies on lands.
- Manage planning process for the redevelopment of Regional lands for affordable housing opportunities.
- Effectively manage the advancement of sites for redevelopment or disposition for the purposes of affordable housing or other Regional objectives.
- Develop, coordinate and implement development related policies, procedures and programs.
Job Requirements:
- Proven success for development approvals with diverse and challenging projects is preferred.
- Legislative processes at all levels of government related to Planning and Development.
- Municipal planning; functions, priorities and key stakeholder groups.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals and stakeholder groups.
- Public policy analysis and development
