Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice-President, Real Estate and Development, the Director, Real Estate Management establishes the strategy for, and plans and directs the management of, the NCC’s rental portfolio of residential, agricultural, commercial, and land assets. The incumbent is responsible for all leasing, construction and property management services for the NCC’s rental portfolio. They direct the preparation and implementation of a capital expenditure program and lead special, complex leasing projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing, negotiating, and managing complex, high-impact, multi-year service contracts
  • Managing a complex real property operation, including the preparation of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets
  • Leading and supervising a team of professionals.
  • Analyzing and resolving sensitive (public and political) property management issues and problems
  • Negotiating complex leases;

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of project management best practices related to real property rehabilitation;
  • Managing a complex real property operation, including the preparation of multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive responsibilities in real estate management, including
  • Knowledge legislative acts, contractual agreements, and lease covenants.
  • Knowledge of the preparation of contracting documents, processes, and practices, and of contractor performance monitoring methods and practices
  • A university degree in engineering, architecture or business or in a field related to the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of property management best practices;
  • Knowledge of property assessment/appraisal methods and practices
