Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager owns and supports projects / programs related to continuous improvement, implementation of new infrastructure and deployment of new services within the Operations group at multiple facilities. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all phases of a project including business justification, project initiation, planning, execution, and closure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate project meetings.
  • Assess project issues / risks and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
  • Identify and assign appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project.
  • Lead, direct, and manage projects by reviewing, creating and validating project implementation plans, timelines, budgets and operational plans for multiple site projects.
  • Interface with all areas affected by the project which may include Customers, IT, Customer Service, Sales, Operations, Transportation,
  • Procurement, Quality, Finance, and various Departments.
  • Remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance, identify performance standards, measure progress, adjust performance accordingly and develop contingency plans.
  • Apply project management best practices – develop and maintain all project documentation including: project charters, project plans, budgets, costs, milestones/timelines, status updates and action logs.
  • Communicate business plans and priorities and act as a liaison between projects teams and rest of the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding and experience in warehousing, transportation and distribution is an important asset.
  • At least 5-years of experience in a similar position.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Expertise in successfully delivering business-critical projects involving cross-functional participants, stakeholders, and organizations.
  • Demonstrated project management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) – an asset
