Job Description:
The Learning Specialist is responsible for the development, of training in a variety of modalities, including: online, paper-based, virtual instructor-led, or in person learning to support various KFC CA products, people development, process, or system initiatives for our restaurants. The learning specialist must have the ability to drive a focus on building people capability through innovative and creative training solutions, and gain alignment with Cross-Functional partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage existing training components and continually improve and innovate training design to increase training efficiency
- Leverage the ADDIE model to deliver large-scale learning designs
- The ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders to influence training strategy and meet key deliverables
Design and develop innovative solutions that use a variety of technology tools and that may launch from the Learning Management System - Design and develop training programs, tools, and resources, applying various scalable approaches (paper-based, eLearning, video, etc.) to best support the learners’ needs and business needs
- Educate cross-functional partners on the roles and accountabilities of training
- Serve as learning expert on projects who challenges the status quo by offering creative solutions and staying up to date on learning industry trends and innovations
- Clarify and align on the learning objectives for each project and link to performance
- Manage and partner with external vendors to deliver projects on time, within budget and meeting expectations
- Influence and gain alignment from all cross-functional partners and their respective leadership to ensure they have reviewed and approved content
- Develop Train-the-Trainer materials and master train field training instructors for national cascades
- Determine, implement, and evaluate data collected on training effectiveness, including from LRS, focus groups and surveys.
- Lead the creation, deployment and continuous improvement of training programs to support the KFC CA system
- Consult with cross functional partners to evaluate their training solutions, and provide expert knowledge that will elevate the effectiveness of those solutions
- Other duties as assigned
- Measure, monitor and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training delivery processes
- Problem solve current business issues and creatively identify learning solutions to positively impact business need
Job Requirements:
- Strong analytical capabilities with good judgment and strong operational focus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make successful presentations to individuals/groups at all levels within the organization.
- Post-secondary degree, with a major in human resources or similar degree
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to hold accountability at all levels of the organization
- Desire to continuously learn and innovate
- Strong understanding of the practical application of ADDIE model and adult learning theories and principles
- Strategic and forward-thinking, and creative with high standards
- Well versed in elearning developer software programs, i.e. Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
- Ability to influence various partners, including teammates, cross-functional partners, and other stakeholdersCustomer-mania for restaurant operations and understands the right voice and tone necessary for our restaurant teams
- Proficiency of graphic design programs (Adobe Creative Suite, Vyond, Camtasia and similar tools) used to develop content
- Well-organized and self-directed individual with strong project management skills and a team player
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- 1-3 years of experience in a related training or operations role
