Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of International Marketing and Communications, the International Digital Marketing Specialist will assist with a variety of digital marketing initiatives including creating , executing, and deploying digital content optimized for Humber’s international stakeholder population, maintaining social media communications with constituents, designing, deploying and reporting on all paid digital marketing campaigns, creating newsletters and emails using communications software, overseeing photoshoots and other tasks as assigned. The individual will make use of both traditional and digital communication tools in order to project a positive image of the College. The incumbent is also responsible for creating a suite of student testimonials (text and working with videographer for digital testimonials).
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with colleagues in Humber International and other departments to create and launch event or content-specific web pages. Apply AODA guidelines and test web responsiveness across various devices as needed.
- Actively incorporate elements of best practices in SEO when building web pages
- Social media monitoring and social listening for assigned social media accounts. Strategically execute a communication strategy in response to queries posted by current and prospective students on Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. Collaborate with other staff in the department and central marketing to ensure consistency in messages provided.
- Ensure brand reputation on social media, identifying key content providers and social media supporters.
- Identify key audiences and messages based on trending content.
- Provide social media platform recommendations, benchmark status, and tracking progress.
- Proactively seek out stories and student testimonials to be presented in a digital format.
- Collaborate with Central Marketing for consistency in messaging
- Working with internal stakeholders, create engaging content that raises brand awareness.
- Work closely with the International Marketing Manager on creating or updating brochures and flyers for recruitment such as the viewbook, program-specific flyers and other related recruitment material
- Design, test, run, optimize and report on all digital marketing campaigns across Google, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms as required.
- Proactively seek out stories and student testimonials in text format.
- Identify, research, create and edit content in a variety of formats, both print and digital, written and video, including integrated marketing campaigns, web and multimedia, advertising and direct mail campaigns, articles, annual reports, campaign reports, speeches, and/or other communications.
- Monitor and evaluate content and channel performance, and recommend areas for improvement, innovation, and growth in accordance with the brand guide.
- Build a social media strategy and plan in collaboration with the International Marketing Manager based on Humber’s strategic marketing and communications plan, including but not limited to marketing/new concepts, community-building efforts and promotions.
- Design and test email and newsletter templates using communication software.
Job Requirements:
- Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Advanced competency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, MailChimp and HTML.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, social media content creation and management.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines with a range of demands.
- Experience in using analytics tools such Google Analytics, MailChimp Analytics, etc and can draw meaningful results from the reporting and implement changes as needed.
- Capacity to take initiative while demonstrating good judgement.
- Fluency in a second language (Arabic, Farsi, French, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Punjabi, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and capacity to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment
- Experience in planning and marketing events is considered an asset.
- Experience in the production of digital promotional material (video, photo, animation) and printed materials (brochure, poster, advertising).
- Quick decision-making skills and good judgment with the demonstrated ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive topics.
- A minimum of a two-year diploma in marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field from a recognized post-secondary educational institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience in developing and implementing communication and social media plans.
- Familiarity with best practices in web content as well as site navigation, usability and design.
- Able to be independently motivated within a team environment.
- Knowledge of best practices in digital and traditional communication with diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to produce effective writing styles/formats for a wide variety of electronic/web-based, print and outdoor media for marketing, media relations, and internal and external communications objectives.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Problem solver and independent worker.
- Advanced competency with various presentation platforms.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of graphic design principles, plus a working knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Advanced competency in photography and videography.
