Job Description:

The Outreach Specialist is responsible to lead initiatives in the area of Community Paramedicine, Fire Department oversight, industry partnerships and in house programing for delivery such as CPR courses. In addition the Specialist will develop and implement course curriculum, deliver annual education, CME programs and develop Train the Trainer material. Quality responsibilities include planning, coordinating and executing activities and tasks as they relate to quality assurance and improvement. In addition, the Specialist will analyze data, create queries and reports and interpret data to support the program’s needs and requirements. This role will also involve research initiatives involving Fire Fighter and Paramedic practice and innovations and in doing so, will collaborate with both internal and external organizations. The position is expected to generate revenue in order to maintain and grow the program and sustain the position.

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of simulation equipment used for education events
  • Knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Turning point, Adobe Learning Suite, Web browsers) used for research and delivery of education
  • Demonstrated organization, facilitation, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and the ability to initiate and model positive change
  • Graduate of an Advanced Care Paramedic Program or Primary Care Paramedic Program recognized by the Ministry of Health
  • Coordination and organization
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) while often working independently
  • Knowledge of the Ambulance Act and its associated Regulations and Standards, and other related legislation related to prehospital emergency care
  • Training in Quality Improvement and Assurance techniques – may include Six Sigma, Lean, National Certified Investigator Training (CLEAR)
  • Recognized Academic qualifications in either, Quality Management, Health Management or Project Management would be an asset

  • Knowledge of current privacy legislation and its application in the regional environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Quality Management Systems
