Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure & Operations, the Team Lead of Network Design & Delivery is responsible for ensuring core infrastructure services (network and telephony) are designed and implemented appropriately into ENMAX’s Hybrid Could (Public, Private, On-Premises) infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT Operations to ensure proper transition of new services into production environment
  • Initiate demand requests to implement all aspects of the network Projects and Continuous Service Improvements
  • Work with Cyber Security team ensuring that the proposed network solution complies with ENMAX’s Cloud/network Security Guidelines and that all Azure Services utilized adhere to the Security standards established for each service
  • Manage 3rd party delivery partners, which includes regular follow-up to make sure tasks are implemented per the agreed schedule and work with the team if issues are identified to get them resolved
  • Where possible, validate that the network solution matches the approved design by the Architecture team
  • Manage all Transition to Operations (TTO) activities related to network delivery operations
  • Serve as a single point of contact for all Network Design, Delivery related questions and issues
  • Create a cross-functional network project plan that encompasses all of the tasks required to build-out/deliver the network. This includes dependencies and parallel tasks
  • Lead IT Network Operations to resolve operation issues
  • Ensure that the technical artifacts required to implement network solutions are developed, reviewed and approved
  • Ensure the upkeep of UAT and pre-production environments
  • Provide leadership to the Network Design, Delivery & Operations team
  • Recommendations on new technology and service offerings
  • Oversee the implementation & operation of ENMAX’s Network and Telephony infrastructure
  • Participate in the design of Cloud-based network solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and service domains (e.g., Web, Database,
  • Storage, Networking, IAM) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are represented
  • Work with the PMO and Project Managers to define project scope, duration, resource requirements, and costs for projects within the network/telephony domain

Job Requirements:

  • Must have an active and valid Cisco Professional certificate or higher (e.g. CCNP)
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace and advocate for new technologies and drive organizational change
  • University degree in Computer Science or related Diploma combined with applicable work experience
  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching of team members where appropriate
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Cisco Routing and Switching technologies, Cisco Data Center technologies as well as Cisco and Palo Alto security platforms
  • Experience mapping Technical requirements into the appropriate cloud model
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure public cloud services
  • Developing understanding of Software Defined Networks (SDN)
  • The ability to assess the potential of new technology and services and determine suitability for use at ENMAX
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with people in-person and remote
  • Ability to coach, guide and mentor team members and colleagues
  • 7+ years of work experience in IT Infrastructure and/or application support including recent hands-on work
  • 2+ years of experience managing small to medium sized teams
  • Positive approach, works well with others and demonstrated ability to resolve escalations
  • Ability to develop professional technical documentation and visual diagrams
  • Desire for continuous learning and exploring new solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with Aruba wireless platform, Citrix NetScaler platform, or comparable vendors
