Job Description:
As a Twinehand, you are mainly helping with fishing research by operating and maintaining fishing gear. You will be required to stand watch as well as operate and maintain small boats. You may also be involved in a wide variety of activities related to Canadian Coast Guard initiatives, like helping with search and rescue, maintaining aids to navigation, responding to environmental problems, and helping authorities with fisheries enforcement.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Marine Emergency Duties certificates STCW Basic Safety [A1 & B2] + Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
- Experience as a deckhand on a Commercial Stern Trawler fishing vessel.
- Valid Transport Canada Fishing Master Class 4th certificate or higher.
- Valid Transport Canada STCW 95 Bridge Watch Rating.
- Valid Transport Canada Watchkeeping Mate certificate (STCW) or higher.
- Reliability security clearance
- Fishing experience as a Twinehand/Leading Deckhand on a Coast Guard Fishery Vessel during operational periods.
