Job Description:
Reporting to Manager/Director, ISM, the person in this role will assist with various projects/initiatives, provide investment structuring support as well as assist in setting up and managing CPP Investments group companies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with workstreams relating to CPP Investments’ legal entity management system functionalities
- Assist with the ongoing operational activities of wholly owned CPP Investment entities to ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the establishment of new legal entities and address legal and governance requirements in support of CPP
- Investments’ structures in partnership with investment teams and Core Services teams
- Assist with the quarterly reporting materials to provide visibility on operational and risk metrics
- Work with internal partners to identify and address structuring and operational complexities of CPP Investments legal entity structures
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of department policies and procedures; identify potential gaps or risks in execution and propose effective solutions
- Provide support for structuring and transaction closing process for Private investments (e.g., track deal timelines, develop a detailed plan including steps and timelines, maintain meeting minutes and project-manage completion of pre-close activities amongst internal partners)
- Take ownership and be accountable for ensuring external and internal compliance deliverables are completed timely
Job Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to identify issues and determine course of action in situations with little or no precedent, analytical and holistic thinking is required
- A professional designation such as CFA, CA, CMA, CBV is considered an asset
- Experience working with low code / no code workflow tools (e.g. Mendix), knowledge of programming languages such as
- Python and using tools like Tableau are an asset
- A track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
- Willingness to actively contribute to a positive, highly effective and collaborative team culture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A continuous learning mindset with a desire to learn about CPP Investments business and recommend innovative solutions to business problems
- Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience (e.g., finance, consulting, private equity, accounting firm etc.)

- The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about problem solving, solutions oriented, and comfortable dealing with complex and fast-moving tasks with varying timelines. You must be a self-starter who works well under pressure. You must have strong interpersonal and business relationship skills, and enjoy working across Core Services and the Investment Departments
- M&A operational experience is an asset
