Job Description:

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining all building systems and equipment located at the various campuses and out-buildings/sites of the College.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating service and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, and equipment
  • Performing necessary building checks and inspections to ensure necessary certifications and compliances are being maintained
  • Developing and adhering to complex preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure asset integrity and value of all building systems
  • Monitoring schedules, setting priorities, and coordinating weekly, monthly and seasonal maintenance tasks for both internal and external building activities
  • Coordinating and completing work requests through establishing priorities, scheduling and organizing with College requests
  • Implementing and scheduling all contractor certifications and inspections in accordance with Fire and Life Safety standards, ESA regulations, and building codes
  • Responding to roof leaks and arranging repairs through established warranty and vendor specifications; ensuring roofing database is up to date and operational

Job Requirements:

  • Two year Diploma in Facilities or Operations Management, Project or Construction Management, or Business is required; OR Journeyman Certification in a related field (Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Carpentry, Building Systems, etc.)
  • Eight years of current practical experience in facilities coordination and project management; including minimum four years of full scope formal project management experience in construction, mechanical and electrical projects, or initiative implementation involving multiple trades and significant budget considerations
  • Relevant daily working experience at an advanced level with AutoCAD or BlueBeam software is required
  • Strong background in architectural, electrical, and mechanical building systems, codes, and standards
  • PMP certification is considered an asset
