Job Description:
Corporate leader in data governance practice and driving organizational behavior change as it relates to the use of data as a corporate asset, including leadership in analysis / insight delivery experience in a complex data-driven organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and promote stewardship and governance of financial and human capital resources
- Develop objectives and take responsibility for engagement, enabling a culture of learning, performance management and accountability for a division
- Establish and ensure the adoption of Data Governance policies, directives, standards and frameworks around data quality, data sharing, data classification, metadata management and data retention,
- Provide leadership and direction for all organization-wide data governance activities with a focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework.
- Establish Data Governance and Data Management capabilities in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and in close collaboration with
- Enterprise Architecture to ensure the function has access to the right technologies to drive its roadmap.
- Drive organizational behavior change as it relates to the use of data; realizing vision of data managed as an asset
- Implement and oversee Data Governance roles and responsibilities, program KPIs / metrics and tools.
- Accountable for the development and execution of a plan to maximize self-service analytics capabilities including reporting (e.g., Power BI), advanced analytics (e.g., MLOps), and Intelligent Automation (e.g., RPA).
- Develop strong and trusted relationships with key corporate stakeholders across all business lines. Responsible for identifying opportunities to aid in solving specific data related business problems and integration into the Corporate Data Program roadmap.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to effectively integrate, contribute and overlap with other functions including Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Cloud, Information Security, Privacy
- Bilingualism (French and English)
- Strong understanding of regulatory demands, compliance, risk, security and privacy requirements
- Excellent ability to influence and lead outcomes at multiple levels of the organization
- Familiarity with advanced analytics tools (SAS, SPSS, R), the Big Data ecosystem and a variety of data manipulation and analytic tools and languages would be an asset.
- Strong project leadership and presenting skills, ability to prioritize across teams and functions
- Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise data assets and approaches related to data protection.
- A minimum of thirteen years of leadership in leading data strategy, standing up a data governance practice and driving organizational behavior change as it relates to the use of data as a corporate asset, including leadership in analysis / insight delivery experience in a complex data-driven organization and a minimum of seven years people management experience
- Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team across distinct IT and business units, work with and through others to achieve desired results
- Proven experience developing data ownership and stewardship in a large, complex organization
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field, such as statistics, economics, commerce, computer science, engineering or business intelligence.
- Master’s degree preferred.
