Job Description:
Maintain procedures, processes and policies for the administration of the Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program and the Drinking Water Quality Management System to ensure compliance to the Licensing Program and conformance of the Quality Management System
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist and, in some cases, lead City Utilities in establishing reporting systems for the drinking water, sanitary and stormwater programs
- Assist with producing regulatory and non-regulatory reports
- Coordinate the mobile data capture program and provide technical support to staff, as required
- Support development and implementation of drinking water continuous improvement initiatives and projects
- Assist with coordination of inspections and audits and liaise with Ministry of Environment, Conservations and Parks and accreditation body staff, senior management and council on results
- Provide training to staff on the Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program, Quality Management System(s) and mobile capture system
- Manage and interpret data on City Utilities operational activities and distribution system for various initiatives and governing bodies; including National Water / Wastewater Benchmarking Initiative, the City’s asset management system and Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program Assist in analysis, interpretation and reporting of water quality test results
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- A satisfactory Police Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check will be required as a condition of hire
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Understanding of mobile data capture systems
- Diploma/degree in Environmental/Applied Science with minimum three years’ experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with the DWQMS audit process
- MECP Water Quality Analyst certificate or training in the Municipal Drinking Water Licensing Program is considered an asset
- Effective skills in project management, organization, decision making and problem solving
- Must have strong experience with GIS systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; and other common municipal information systems is considered an asset
