Job Description:

We are looking for a Coordinator, Emergency Management to lead assigned programs and initiatives within the EM mandate, including, but not limited to, volunteer management, preparedness and response activities, and external relationship building.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ERT providing coordination for the day-to-day delivery of emergency social services on site (coaching, feedback to responders and volunteers).
  • Report regularly onsite activities and issues according to technical standards.
  • Elaborate and regularly review the site safety and contingency plans and ensure health and safety of employees, volunteers, and clients.
  • Coordinate implementation and monitor the operations site capacity/needs according to the changing context (material, financial and human resources).
  • Maintain communications with local (national, community) authorities and stakeholders; represent the CRC with media and other organizations, as required
  • Evaluate the delivery of services to people affected by the disaster and the efficiency of the volunteers after a response.
  • Play a key role during local, provincial and national disaster and emergency responses as required including Duty Officer coverage as assigned;

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum qualifications for this job include completion of a post-secondary diploma in a relevant field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of job-related work experience, including managing disaster response, working with volunteers, some community engagement and government relationship development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English,fluency in Cree, Ojibway or a second language, an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
