Are you social media savvy with an interest in retail, student life and events? Responsible for the creation of social media content and execution, the Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator supports the sales, engagement and growth of the Campus Store, Residences and Conferences & Events social media platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing & Business Development, this enthusiastic team member is an integral part of the marketing team that engages with student life on campus to create branded campaigns that connect with customers and drive engagement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute engaging video and image based assets, including but not limited to online advertisements, videos, animations, illustrations, images, infographics, etc.;
  • Create and implement innovative social media marketing initiatives, including the execution of a social media sales and advertisement strategy to achieve business targets and generate leads for business growth;
  • Lead in the coordination and maintenance of the respective Ancillary Services social media platforms and channels, including developing and posting content specific to sales and operation campaigns;
  • Attend assigned events to create, capture, and broadcast live content.
  • Implement a content schedule to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns to support the achievement of sales targets;
  • Develop and maintain photographic and video assets that can be used on digital platforms to support the operational and sales targets of Ancillary Services;
  • Report on social media performance using data insights to measure success and provide recommendations for future strategy;
  • Drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from social media platforms to point of sale interfaces of Ancillary Services.;
  • Collaborate with University Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure branding on platforms is aligned;
  • Report on insights and best practices for all email marketing campaigns to optimize sales potential;
  • Grow new and existing social networks by increasing brand awareness and engagement rates;
  • Contribute to content meetings, generating creative ideas and innovations relevant to operational goals and growth targets to help increase target demographic engagement;
  • Execute social media initiatives like contests and content promotion campaigns to support operational and sales growth targets, as identified by the Associate Director, Marketing & Business Development;
  • Copy edit and review digital assets to ensure compliance with brand standards, accessibility standards and relevant legislation;
  • Research and advise on social media trends and insights to optimize sales potential and growth within the social media landscape;

Job Requirements:

  • Strong discretion, persuasion, motivation, and sales skills;
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content development;
  • Creative design skills, including the ability to develop or adapt photography, video, and marketing communications materials for a digital sales environment;
  • Maintain highest level of accuracy and alertness for decisions made, information given, materials processed, particularly under strict deadlines;
  • Flexible and responsive to changing needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge of graphic design and proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and social media sites with sound knowledge of digital/social media content platforms;
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
  • An undergraduate degree in a related field (digital communications/ marketing), or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video production for social media; including the ability to shoot, edit and format video content adapted and optimized for various social media sites and channels
  • Ability to secure support from existing networks and to capitalize on new partnership opportunities within the organization;
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to ensure accurate and professional public- facing digital content;
  • Proficiency in web analytics for content with an understanding of how data guides content creation and strategy;
  • Ability to appropriately handle urgent situations in a calm, diplomatic and tactful way;
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the proven ability to independently design, implement, manage, lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and propose approaches to improve outcomes;
