Job Description:

Leading projects/disciplines and working with Project Managers in executing Federal IAs and municipal and provincial EAs (planning, preliminary design and detail design) as well as other approval and permitting activities for infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with clients by phone, email, writing and in-person.
  • Being familiar with Fisheries Act, Endangered Species Act, Navigation Protection Act, Environmental Protection Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Researching, conceptualizing, planning, and writing drafts of reports related to planning, design and permitting.
  • Coordinating and managing environmental specialists (i.e., fisheries, terrestrial, noise, air, archaeology, etc.) and planning support staff.
  • Coordinating, preparing for, attending, and documenting project meetings.
  • Collaborating with technical and professional staff across the company in completing assignments.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills with proven success in engaging design managers, discipline leads and contractors and negotiating with regulatory agencies to secure project approvals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management/Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
  • Experience with the Impact Assessment Act, Environmental Assessment, and other legislation related to the position (e.g., Fisheries Act, Endangered Species Act, Navigation Protection Act, Environmental Protection Act and their regulations).
  • 8+ years of experience.
