Our client, a manufacturing facility, is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join their industry-leading team of professionals in Edmonton, AB, this is an onsite position. This position will be ideally suited for a recently graduated CPA. To succeed in this role, the individual will need to display competence in finance, be a great operational communicator, and be able to achieve pre-determined goals and timelines (excellent time management skills are needed to meet weekly, monthly, and annual reporting deadlines). The position will be reporting directly into the Vice President.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation weekly, monthly, annual journal entries (recurring and complex)
- Ad-hoc requests as assigned
- Be the key banking contact
- Monthly bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation
- Accounts payable
- Full Cycle Accounting: Billing and collections (Production & Service) complex unionized payroll (Production & Service)
- Work with the production department on scheduling and reporting
- Familiar with Union Agreements and Remittances, Commission Sales, Taxable Benefits, CRA remittances, employee benefits.
- Inventory & WIP Management overseeing the accounting department staff
- Work with the purchasing department on inventory controls and month end accounting
- Management Reporting (Monthly and Yearly Financial Statements, Financial Modelling, Dashboards, as well as Internal Reporting) work with the President on corporate matters
- Project based accounting
Job Requirements:
- Experience Level 1 CPA – Certified Payroll Association (would be an Asset)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Payroll Experience, unionized payroll is an asset
- Sage 50 Premium Accounting Certification (would be an asset) Sage 50 Premium Accounting Work
- Near completion, or completion of the CPA accounting designation
- Knowledge of MISys Manufacturing an asset
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
